Another unforgettable experience was attending a football match at the Estadio Nemesio Camacho, better known as El Campín. As I entered the stadium with the Millonarios FC fans, I felt the electric atmosphere emanating from the stands. The passion and dedication of the Colombian soccer fans was impressive, even if the security and rules in the stadium were much stricter than what I was used to in Europe.

Meeting Laura's grandfather was a highlight of our trip. A charming man who used to work for Siemens and often traveled around Germany. Although he had not spoken German for over two decades, his knowledge of the language was impressive. He was particularly happy about the Ratzeputz schnapps from the Lüneburg Heath, which we had brought him as a gift. It was touching to see him reminisce and tell us about his adventures.

The next morning we set out to explore the famous Pozos Azules. The blue pools were a truly magical sight, their deep blue glowing in the sunlight and captivating us. We enjoyed strolling along the paths and taking in the beauty of nature before making our way back to Villa de Leyva.

After six exciting days in Tayrona National Park, I headed to Buritaca, a charming coastal village with a relaxed atmosphere. Here I was able to unwind, explore the local shops and sample the delicious Colombian cuisine. The encounters with the friendly locals rounded off my stay and gave me an insight into authentic life in Colombia.

In addition to the sights and culinary delights, Barichara also offered adventure for those who dared. A trip to the Parque Nacional del Chicamocha took me to one of the largest canyons in the world, where I experienced ziplining, rappelling and admired the breathtaking scenery from the air. Rafting through the Rio Fonce and paragliding near Kuriti were also unforgettable experiences that gave me a new perspective on the beauty of nature.

Our journey through the Valle de Cocora and the Zona Cafetera was an unforgettable adventure full of nature, culture and unexpected encounters. We are grateful for the memories we have created and look forward to returning to this fascinating region one day.

Cali is a city full of contrasts and surprises to be discovered. Despite its challenges, its beauty and diversity remain unmistakable, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to experience it on my journey.
