KAESER in Piura will be a reality starting October 2026. The German compressor manufacturer continues to expand its presence in Peru. The company is investing approximately US$250,000 in its new branch in northern Peru. The opening is planned for the first weeks of October.
This moves Piura closer to the sales and service network of an internationally operating German industrial company. The decision to choose this location is primarily driven by the growing agro-industry, as well as mining and other industrial businesses in northern Peru.
KAESER in Piura: Approximately US$250,000 to be invested
The new branch is intended to be more than just a simple sales office. Plans include a showroom, technical support, and its own spare parts warehouse. The investment also covers personnel, tools, measuring equipment, inventory, and equipped service vehicles. KAESER estimates the total volume at about US$250,000.
The branch aims to provide customers in the north with faster access to spare parts and technical service. Previously, such services sometimes had to be handled through more distant locations. A specific number of new jobs has not yet been announced.
Why the German company chose Piura
The decision for Piura is primarily based on two economic sectors: agro-industry and mining. The Piura region is one of Peru's significant agricultural regions. Mango and lime are among the region's important products.
Food processing companies, in particular, require reliable compressed air systems with appropriate quality standards. KAESER sees a market here for its equipment and services. In addition, there are mining companies and other industrial businesses in northern Peru.
For these companies, short distances for maintenance and spare parts supply are economically important. KAESER therefore aligns its regional locations with the number of machines already in use in an area.
El Niño plays a special role in the investment
The timing of the investment is remarkable. Piura is one of the regions in Peru that are particularly vulnerable to a strong El Niño event. For KAESER, however, this risk is no reason to halt expansion in the north. The company intends to prepare its customers for possible disruptions. This includes available replacement machines, rental equipment, and spare parts directly in the region. Training on the correct use and sizing of compressed air systems is also part of the strategy.
In case of floods, machines and production facilities can be damaged. A regional spare parts and service network can then reduce downtime. Thus, the new branch in Piura also takes on a function for the crisis preparedness of industrial companies.
German technology for the Peruvian market
KAESER has been active in Peru for around 16 years and has several regional branches. Locations include Lurín, Trujillo, Arequipa, Nasca, and Abancay, among others. With Piura, the network in the north will be further strengthened.
According to the company, the machines sold in Peru are manufactured in Germany. They then reach Peru via the port of Callao. KAESER has its headquarters in Coburg, Upper Franconia, and is represented internationally in more than 140 countries.
Mining accounts for approximately 60 percent of Peru's business
Peruvian mining is of particular importance to the company. According to the CEO of KAESER in Peru, approximately 60 percent of the company's revenue in the country comes from the mining sector.
Large mining operations require more than just compressors. Maintenance, spare parts, oils, and technical services ensure long-term business. Mobile diesel-powered compressors are particularly in demand. They are used, for example, in exploration and construction work.
The company expects double-digit growth in Peru for 2026. With the new branch in Piura, a part of this growth is expected to come more strongly from northern Peru.
Piura gains importance as an economic hub
The investment is modest compared to large mining or infrastructure projects. However, the location decision is still interesting for Piura. It shows that companies do not view the north solely as a sales market.

KAESER also relies on rental models
In addition to expanding its network of locations, KAESER is changing its business model in Peru. The company aims to further expand the rental of complete compressed air systems.
Companies do not have to buy a system themselves. KAESER provides the technology and handles installation, monitoring, maintenance, and spare parts. The customer pays for the compressed air needed or the agreed service.
Such contracts can run for seven, eight, or even ten years. For companies, this initially reduces the required investments in their own equipment. KAESER also offers systems that are already fully installed in containers.
This can sometimes avoid the need for additional buildings for compressor systems. According to the company, this model is already used in mining and the food industry.
What the investment means for Piura
The new branch is not a giant industrial project. Nevertheless, its economic significance should not be judged solely by the investment sum. What is particularly interesting is the decision of a German industrial company to permanently establish infrastructure in Piura.
KAESER is not just investing in sales offices. Spare parts, technical equipment, service vehicles, and skilled personnel will be directly available on-site. This shifts services to northern Peru that companies previously had to obtain partly from other regions.
For Piura, this is another sign that the region is developing as an independent economic hub in northern Peru. The planned opening in October 2026 will show how great the demand from the agro-industry, mining, and other industrial sectors actually is.
