Llamas, superpowers, and childish megalomania—what the hell is in this book?!
A secret interview with Perusina, Perusino and their creator Torsten Peters
They are cheeky, they are loud – and now they have a book.
We're talking about Perusina and Perusino , two children from the Inca Empire who not only annoy llamas, but also gods, teachers and all adults who are too serious.
The new children's book "Perusina & Perusino – Gods with Superpowers – Inca Edition" will be published in a few days by PeruMagazin . And we conducted an exclusive interview with the two main characters and the man who set them free in the first place: Torsten Peters .
The conversation took place secretly, in a room without adults. Only a lama was allowed to listen.
“I thought we were at least getting a llama salary!”
Perusino , six years old, wears a poncho, sandals and has an opinion on everything.
"I didn't want to get into a book. I wanted popcorn."
His sister Perusina , eight, just grins: "I wanted to be queen. Now I'm in a book. That's fine."
Author Torsten Peters shrugs. "I did my best. I wanted to tell history as children experience it – with humor, nonsense, but real facts. And without this pedagogical cotton wool packaging."
The Incas – finally different
Anyone who thinks this is the next good non-fiction series is wrong.
Perusina and Perusino explain the Inca Empire with childish madness:
- Gods who are in a bad mood
- Llamas with opinions
- And a sun god whose superpower is turned off
"We just say how it was. Or how we think it was," explains Perusina.
“And my belly has its own scene,” Perusino adds proudly.

A story for parents who dare to laugh
Torsten Peters has created a children's book that could just as easily be on an adult's shelf.
"I want parents to laugh—not yawn—when reading aloud. And for children to feel strong. Curious. Loud. And a little wild."
Mission accomplished.
The book is at once educational, chaotic, profound and hilariously funny.
What happens if it becomes a bestseller?
“I’m buying a llama with sunglasses,” says Perusino.
"I'm having a golden temple built for me. Without boys," says Perusina.
And Torsten Peters? "I'll keep writing. If those two don't kidnap me first."
“Perusina & Perusino – Gods with Superpowers – Inca Edition” will be published in a few days by PeruMagazin.
A book for all who dare to see history through children's eyes.
Loud. Funny. And definitely not boring.
