Perusino in Peru

My name is Perusino and I am seven years old. Together with my parents, I traveled to many places in Peru. Adults call this a trip, but for me it was simply my everyday life with different sounds, different food, and many new paths. On this page, I show what Peru looks like to Perusino when I stand somewhere, look around, and try to understand why a place is so important.
I don't remember places because they're famous, but because something happened there. Maybe I was cold, maybe I was tired, maybe someone spent a long time explaining what I should see, even though I didn't see it. These are exactly the kinds of moments that appear in my stories. I describe how high a staircase seemed, how a city sounded, or how a square felt when everyone was focused on taking photos.
The gods of the Inca
When I talk about a place, it's always about two things. First, what it was really like there: the journey there, the light, the wind, the people. Then, what was going on in my head. Adults like to talk about history and famous names; I think about hunger, cold fingers, or boring waits. That's how images of Peru emerge that are close to what a child actually experiences.
Places I'll show you
Gradually, stories about various places in Peru will be added here. Some are well-known, others are smaller but still important to me. This page collects the places Perusino has visited so far. Each place gets its own story, told from my perspective and without any embellishment.
Each of these places feels different to me. Some are loud and crowded, others quiet and vast. Some spark curiosity, others weariness. In my stories, each place gets the time it needs, even if it was just a brief moment I remember.

More about Peru
For those who want to learn more about Peru, there are additional sections alongside my stories. These sections explore gods and myths like Pachamama and Inti, the Inca era, and the people who live in Peru today. They explain how everything originated, the origins of certain customs, and why places hold special significance. My experiences intertwine with this background information to create a larger picture of Peru, one that gradually expands as you see and read more. For Perusino, this is how a unique Peru gradually emerges, a Peru comprised of feelings, journeys, and perspectives.
