In the coming years, Piura could for the first time receive regular direct international connections to Ecuador. Connections to Guayaquil and Cuenca are planned, to be operated by JetSMART.
What has been confirmed so far
The proposed routes would link Capitán FAP Guillermo Concha Ibérico Airport more closely with international air traffic. This could eliminate detours via Lima for travelers from northern Peru.
No final start date yet
A binding start of scheduled operations and ticket sales has not yet been definitively confirmed. Travelers should therefore check flight schedules and airline announcements before planning a trip.
Significance for Northern Peru
Direct flights to Ecuador could significantly facilitate tourism, business travel, and cross-border exchange between Piura and the Ecuadorian cities. Guayaquil, in particular, would be interesting as a regional hub.
