The well-known Swedish furniture and home furnishings chain IKEA plans to open its first store in Peru. This move follows the successful openings of stores in other South American countries such as Chile and Colombia. Although an exact date for the opening has not yet been set, the Peruvian store is expected to open its doors in 2024, approximately two years after the planned openings in Cali and Medellín, according to statements by Gastón Bottazzini, the former CEO of Falabella.
IKEA is known worldwide for its mission to make high-quality design accessible to everyone. The chain's range includes a wide range of products, including furniture, lighting accessories, home textiles and storage solutions. These products are not only characterized by their smart and practical design, but also by their sustainability. IKEA attaches great importance to the durability and environmentally friendly production of its items. The announcement of the upcoming opening has generated great interest in Peru, as IKEA has already attracted millions of visitors to its existing stores in Chile and Colombia. The first Chilean store has recorded a total of 27 million visits since its opening in late 2023. In Colombia, the second store in Cali will open on May 8, 2024, following the successful launch of the first store in Bogotá.
