Sofia Kourtesis' musical odyssey begins in the colorful streets of Lima, Peru. Growing up in a politically active family where her mother advocated for gender equality and her father fought against corruption as a lawyer, Kourtesis absorbed a rich mix of social and cultural influences. The Spanish titles of many of her pieces and the inclusion of sound recordings from Lima reflect her deep connection to her homeland.
