The wedding of Lloque Yupanqui and Amaru
It was a beautiful morning in the land of the Incas, and the sun shone particularly brightly over the high peaks of the Andes. Perusina and Perusino were awakened by a gentle whisper coming through their window. This time it was not a golden light that called them, but the soft rustling of leaves and the chirping of birds - a sign that today was a special day.
Perusina jumped out of bed excitedly. “Today is the day! Lloque Yupanqui and Amaru are getting married!”
Perusino grinned and quickly got dressed. "I can hardly wait to see the celebration! It will surely be a wedding like no other in the entire Inca Empire."
They had barely gotten ready when they felt the earth beneath them gently vibrate. It was Pachamama, the earth goddess, who had appeared to take them to the palace. "You two have done so much for Lloque Yupanqui and Amaru," she said lovingly. "It's only right that you are by their side when they say "I do."
With a warm smile she touched the ground, and immediately Perusina and Perusino were gently transported into the mountains, up to the great Temple of the Sun, where the wedding ceremony was to take place.
The preparations
When they arrived, the children were amazed at the magnificent sight that greeted them. The palace was decorated with the most beautiful flowers and colorful cloths that shone in the colors of the Inca Empire. People were running around everywhere, making the final preparations for the celebration. The air was filled with joyful laughter, the beating of drums and the scent of fresh herbs.
“Look at that!” Perusina said excitedly. “So many flowers! And the music!”
The children were greeted by a woman with a wreath of flowers. "Welcome, Perusina and Perusino," she said kindly. "You are guests of honor at the wedding of Lloque Yupanqui and Amaru."
She led the two through the bustling crowd to the inner courtyard, where they found Amaru standing in a magnificent gown of the finest fabric. Her hair was threaded with gold threads, and she wore a crown of flowers that made her look like a goddess.
“Amaru, you look beautiful!” Perusina exclaimed admiringly.
Amaru smiled gently. "Thank you, Perusina. I am so happy that you are here today. Without you, I might never have met Lloque Yupanqui."
"You are the perfect woman for him," said Perusino. "The party will be great."
The ceremony in the Sun Temple
Soon it was time for the wedding, and everyone gathered in the great Temple of the Sun, which stood on a high mountain peak. The sun was high in the sky when Lloque Yupanqui entered the temple, wearing a magnificent robe threaded with gold and silver, and looking more wise and majestic than ever before.
Perusina and Perusino watched him eagerly as he stood in the middle of the temple, waiting for Amaru. The Temple of the Sun was the most sacred of all buildings in the Inca Empire, and today it seemed as if all of nature was participating in this festive event. The birds chirped louder, the flowers bloomed more vigorously, and even the wind seemed to blow more gently.
Then Amaru entered, led by the priests of the temple. Her dress shone in the sunlight and she moved with grace, as if she herself were part of the earth and the sky. The crowd fell silent in awe as she stepped beside Lloque Yupanqui.
Inti, the sun god who had already sent the two children on many adventures, shone especially brightly that day. A ray of sunlight fell directly on the couple as the high priest began the sacred ceremony.
"Today two souls unite in harmony with the sun and the earth," the priest cried solemnly. "Lloque Yupanqui, the great ruler, and Amaru, the wise guardian of stories and nature, will today form a bond stronger than any gold or silver."
Perusina and Perusino stood at the front, close to the bride and groom, and felt the special magic of this moment. It was as if the whole world stood still for a moment to celebrate the love and harmony between Lloque Yupanqui and Amaru.
“Do you, Lloque Yupanqui, take Amaru as your wife and queen?” asked the priest.
Lloque Yupanqui nodded proudly. "Yes, I promise to honor her, to respect her and to work with her to care for our people."
Then the priest turned to Amaru. “And you, Amaru, do you take Lloque Yupanqui as your husband and king?”
Amaru smiled gently. "Yes, I promise to stand by his side, to love our people and to spread wisdom and goodness together with him."
The priest raised his hands to heaven. "Then you are now one - united in the light of the sun and the warmth of the earth. May your love be as strong as the mountains and as eternal as the flow of time."
The big celebration
After the ceremony, everyone streamed out into the large square in front of the temple, where the wedding celebration began. There was plenty to eat, and long tables everywhere were set with the best foods of the Inca Empire: freshly baked bread, corn dishes, fruits and spices. Musicians played cheerful songs and people danced exuberantly.
Perusina and Perusino sat at the table of honor right next to Lloque Yupanqui and Amaru. They felt particularly honored because the couple had offered them the place of honored guests.
“Oh, the food is delicious!” Perusina said enthusiastically as she tried a tasty corn dish.
Perusino nodded in agreement as he took a bite of a juicy piece of fruit. "And the music is so cheerful!"
Lloque Yupanqui laughed heartily. "You both have done so much for us. Without you, Amaru and I would not be here today. You are part of our family."
Amaru nodded and added, "We will never forget you. You have given us the greatest gift - love for each other."
"It was a pleasure," Perusina said modestly. "We are glad we could help."
The celebration lasted until late into the night. There was dancing, laughter and storytelling. The stars sparkled in the clear sky and the moon shone brightly over the mountains. Perusina and Perusino danced with the other guests and felt like they were living in a dream. It was a wedding full of joy and love and they knew that this day would remain in their hearts forever.
The farewell
As the celebration drew to a close and the guests began to head home, Lloque Yupanqui and Amaru came to the children. "It is time for you to return," Amaru said gently. "But we will always carry you in our hearts."
Lloque Yupanqui placed his hands on her shoulders. "You are the bravest and smartest children I have ever met. Our kingdom is full of hope and love thanks to you."
“And if you ever need us again, we’re just a ray of sunshine away!” Perusino added with a wink.
With a final smile and a hug, the children said goodbye to the happy couple. Inti, the sun god, sent a warm ray that brought them safely back to their room.
As they sank into their beds, exhausted but happy, Perusina and Perusino thought about the wonderful wedding they had just witnessed. They knew that they would soon be going on a new adventure in the land of the Incas - but today they slept peacefully and dreamed of love, friendship and a kingdom that had become a little better because of their actions.
"Sleep, my child, in Peru,
Llamas rest, clouds close.
The moon shines brightly on mountain and valley,
Sweet dreams in the starbeam. 🌙✨"
