“The album has the Scorpions DNA, the core is the Schenker/Mein compositions,” says frontman Klaus Meine and goes on to explain why the new songs have the freshness and power of the 80s Scorpions albums: “As a band, we’re all in it together played in one room and recorded the songs - just like we did back in the 80s. We can’t wait to get going again so we can finally play for our fans again.”

The Scorpions recorded eleven songs for this, each a lyrical short story, minimal poems in prose, presented in opulent sound, with the character of the Scorpions in the early 1980s, but with a fresh production coat for the 2020s. The resources of the career years have become an overflowing fund that builds a bridge from yesterday to tomorrow. "Rock Believer" has become perhaps the Scorpions' most characteristic album. The work of a band at the peak of their musical art.

"Rock Believer" is also the first album to feature former Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee, who joined in 2016 after his own group ended. The rest of the band consists of Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (guitar), Matthias Jabs (guitar) and Paweł Mąciwoda (bass), who, unlike its predecessors, wrote the album completely without the support of other songwriters.

Scorpions revealed what the new record sounds like in November with the single “Peacemaker,” about which Meine said: “The first thing that came to my mind was the hook. ›Peacemaker, peacemaker / Bury the undertaker‹. I was just playing around with those words. At a time when so many people have died and are still dying from Covid, from devastating wars and other senseless crimes, it feels like the undertaker has to be working overtime. In a peaceful post-pandemic world, it will be time for the Peacemaker to rule... that's an image I like.«
