An Unforgettable Trip through Peru: A month full of diversity and adventure
Peru, a fascinating country in South America, offers not only a rich history and impressive culture, but also breathtaking landscapes and a variety of activities for every traveler. Our journey through this country spanned a whole month, from north to south, from Ecuador to Bolivia. Here we share our experiences and recommendations for an unforgettable trip through Peru.
Our journey began in the north of the country when we arrived from Ecuador. Peru is large and diverse, and it's virtually impossible to explore everything in a month. But we've put together an itinerary that covers a wide range of activities and sights
1: Northern Peru
Our trip started in the northern region of Peru. Here we experienced the fascinating mix of history and nature. The ancient ruins of Kuelap, often referred to as the “Machu Picchu of the North,” were a highlight. The density of the Amazon basin in the north allowed us to immerse ourselves in the exotic wildlife.
Part 2: Central and Western Peru
Our journey took us further into the central and western regions of Peru. Lima, the capital, impressed us with its vibrant cuisine and colonial heritage. The desert oasis of Huacachina offered a unique opportunity for sandboarding, while the Ballestas Islands gave us the opportunity to observe the rich marine fauna.
Part 3: The wonders of Cusco and Machu Picchu
The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly Cusco and the world famous Machu Picchu. The historic ruins of Cusco, once the center of the Inca Empire, fascinated us with their architecture and history. Hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu was strenuous, but the breathtaking views and historical significance made it an unforgettable experience.
Part 4: Southern Peru
Our trip ended in southern Peru, where Lake Titicaca and the city of Puno awaited us. The highest navigable lake in the world impressed not only with its size, but also with the unique floating islands of the Uros population.
Practical tips for travelers
Traveling Peru is safe and affordable. We often used night buses, although there are also flight options to save time. Road conditions are not always optimal, but there are quality bus companies connecting popular destinations.
A trip through Peru is a journey through diversity - from the tropical rainforests of the north to the barren beauty of the desert to the majestic Andes in the center of the country. Our four-week trip was a journey through time and space, through history and nature. We hope this story provides you with inspiration for your own journey through this fascinating country.
