Adel Tawil began working on “Spiegelbild” immediately after the release of his last album “So beautifully different” in 2017. But the creation process was different than expected: Due to the corona pandemic and the associated lockdowns, Adel suddenly had a lot of time to spend alone in his apartment and deal with his thoughts.

This led to a new approach to music: Instead of working with co-writers and producers as before, Adel wrote most of the songs for "Spiegelbild" alone. He also wanted to break new ground musically and not rest on his old successes. The result was a mix of pop elements, influences from R&B and hip-hop as well as rock guitar sounds.

The album's content is about themes such as loss, loneliness and self-doubt, but also about hope and the search for inner strength. Adel Tawil gives deep insights into his own emotional world and processes personal experiences.
