One evening, as the sun slowly disappeared behind the mountains and the first stars began to sparkle in the sky, Perusina and Perusino heard a quiet whisper. It came from the ancient, mysterious stones that had been placed by the Incas in their village long ago. Curious, they followed the whisper, which led them to a hidden clearing in the forest.
There, in the middle of the clearing, a brilliant light suddenly appeared, as warm and bright as the midday sun. A majestic figure emerged from this light - it was Inti, the sun god who had watched over the land for centuries and given people light and warmth.
"Perusina and Perusino," said Inti in a gentle but powerful voice, "I have been watching you for a long time. You are brave and have a pure heart. That is why I want to show you something."
Inti beckoned the children closer, and as they approached, he enveloped them in his radiant light. Suddenly Perusina and Perusino found themselves on the highest peak of the Andes. From there they could see the whole country - the green valleys, the deep rivers, and the ancient, mysterious cities of the Incas sparkling like stars in the distance.
"You see," said Inti, "this is the land that I have protected since time immemorial. The Incas lived here and were my people. They taught people to respect nature and honor the earth."
Perusina and Perusino listened fascinated to the words of the sun god. They could feel how much Inti loved his country and his people.
"But today I want to show you something special," Inti continued. "Look where the rainbow meets the earth."
The children looked and saw a golden temple at the end of the rainbow, glittering in the sunlight. "That is the temple of Inti," explained the sun god. "It is where the Incas keep the memory of our time together."
“Inti,” Perusino asked quietly, “why are you showing us all this?”
"Because you are the next keepers of these stories," Inti replied with a gentle smile. "You should tell people how beautiful and precious this land is, and how important it is to preserve the old stories and wisdom."
With these words, Inti placed a golden feather in the hand of each of the children. "These feathers will remind you that you always carry a piece of the sun within you. And if you are ever afraid or lost, think of me and I will light your way."
Slowly the light around them began to fade, and before they knew it, Perusina and Perusino were back in the clearing in their village. The sun had now completely set and the moon shone brightly in the sky.
“Was this all just a dream?” asked Perusina, looking at the golden feather in her hand.
"Maybe," said Perusino, "but I think we will never forget this dream."
And so the two children went home, their hearts full of warmth and the promise of the sun god in their hearts. They knew that one day they would bring the stories of the country of Peru to the world so that no one would ever forget the wonders of the Incas and the wisdom of Inti.
And as they fell asleep peacefully in their beds, a particularly bright star shone in the sky – as if Inti herself was watching over them.
